Who We Are ... Your Vizi developers are a group of adventurers and explorers. We’ve been fortunate to have traveled the world to places like Bolivia, New Zealand and Antartica. We’ve met the Sami people north of the Arctic Circle in Finland and Komoro tribesmen of Irian Jaya. Through those experiences we’ve learned that the world is a unique and beautiful place. We are also photo enthusiasts and mapping professionals. So ViziWorld is simply an extension of what we know, do and love. Some of us have been known to stare at paper maps and atlases for hours at a time - not looking for one particular place but wondering about all the places on the map and what it would be like to visit there. We thought it was about time for people to have an easy and fun way to link pictures and maps and communicate their view of the world - to the world. We are located in Fort Collins, Colorado.
What We’re About .... ViziWorld connects people’s vision to location. We’ve designed our products and services to give people the ability to create more meaning in their communication with one another. Geography has always added meaning to people’s existence. Knowing the “where” about a person, a group, a thing, an activity, or an event around the world adds greater understanding. Looking at maps from the age of ancient map makers and early explorers you see parts of the world clearly defined and recognizable but very quickly you reach the frontier of exploration – the coastlines flatten out, rivers wander off into dead ends, and continents take on fantastic shapes or are missing completely. These were the limits of the “known” world at the time. The rest could only be surmised or imagined. Long before the moment the Apollo 8 astronauts stared in wonder at the first “earthrise” as they orbited the moon in 1968, we were advancing rapidly in our understanding and mapping of the world’s surface. Now the entire globe has been captured multiple times with multiple satellite sensors. We know its physical dimensions with absolute accuracy with Global Positioning Systems (GPS). It would seem the age of discovery is over for map makers...or is it?. ViziWorld offers you the ability to create your own personal photo maps that tell the story of your trips, your adventures - your life. We have mapped the world and give it to you! Now it's your turn to snap it, map it, and share it!
